ExpressJet Student Pilot Programs

ExpressJet’s Airline Pilot Pathway Program (AP3) is designed to give students a highly structured path through school, building hours as a CFI, to a career at ExpressJet. Benefits Include:

  • An early interview that leads to a guaranteed job after program completion.
  • An ExpressJet EPIC Ambassador (mentor) who is a current pilot that can help answer questions, offer advice and be a resource for the student throughout training

ExpressJet’s Preferred School Program (PSP) is designed to give flight school students a clear path to ExpressJet upon earning their flight time and certifications. Students enrolled in the PSP are offered a competitive advantage with a guaranteed interview at ExpressJet early in their training.

From ExpressJet to United Airlines

Take advantage of ExpressJets Student Pilot Programs and their United Airlines Career Path Program!

Find out how you can go from no flight experience to flying at United Airlines via ExpressJet:

Step 1 - Enroll at L3

The first step in your journey to becoming an Airline Pilot is to enroll in  our Professional Pilot Program or Airline Pilot Track. Both of these programs include accredited curriculum and airline oriented training that can take you from no experience to becoming a Certified Flight Instructor in as little as 15 months!

Step 2 - Join ExpressJets Student Program

The next step is to apply to the ExpressJet Preferred School Program or Airline Pilot Pathway Program. If accepted, you will ahve access to an early interview and pilot mentors from ExpressJet!

Step 3 - Build Your Experience

Those that complete our Professional Pilot Program or Airline Pilot Track are guaranteed an interview to Flight Instruct at L3 in Florida. Our Instructors fly an average of 100 hours per month and 96% of our cadets who stay at L3 to instruct are placed at an airline!

Step 4 - Become an Airline Pilot

After reaching the FAA mandated 1500 hours of flight time, you will be eligible to earn your Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. As a ExpressJet First Officer, you can recieve a $22k New Hire Bonus, a $5k Type Rating Bonus, and $10K Annual Override!

Step 5 - Fly at United Airlines

As an ExpressJet Pilot, you will have access to the United Airlines Career Path Program. The United CPP guarantees eligible ExpressJet pilots participation in United’s hiring process and, once accepted into the program, the expectation that they will become a United pilot.
