Operations and Test Apprentice

We’re looking for the next generation who will continue to innovate in our business and deliver to our customers within the aviation industry. An Apprenticeship position in our Operations and Test Team will see you gaining invaluable experience in the real world. You will be working alongside a fully skilled and experienced team where you will share in the everyday challenges, develop new skills and acquire a fascinating insight into our business.

Person Specification

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who really want to make the most of a hands on Apprenticeship working in a complex, international and fast paced environment, pushing the boundaries of what can be learnt and experienced during an Apprenticeship. The right candidate will have;

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

  • 4 GCSEs grade 4 or above to include English, Mathematics and Science, a technology based GCSE would be an advantage, or a minimum BTEC Level 2 in an appropriate field
  • Effective time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with his/hers peers and supervisors at all times
  • Team player, flexible working, open minded, proactive in moving the company forward
  • Displays energy, drive, agility and resilience in achieving work-related goals

Over the period of the Apprenticeship Key Responsibilities and Task will include:

  • Detailed fitting and integration work
  • Basic visual commissioning
  • Basic PCB repair/building
  • Mechanical commissioning and fault finding
  • Pipe-work and tracking work
  • Metal work activities
  • Manual lifting as required
  • Working with technical drawings and other specification documents
  • Wire wrapping / soldering, and simulator wiring activities
  • Basic electrical commissioning and fault finding
