Planning and Delivery Executive

This great opportunity has arisen with an internationally recognized and rapidly expanding airline pilot training and resourcing organization. Due to our continued growth within the Global Flight Training activity this role will be fundamental to support our complex process and regulations within the operational planning phase. Working with our global colleagues this role will drive an increased focus in the planning of this phase of our wider plan to ensure the optimum flow of Flight Training through the entire cadet pipeline is accurate, timely and maintained. This role has been established to ensure there is sufficient support in the delivery of the plan and a timely feedback to the central planning team on factors impacting capacity of the Academy’s.

Core duties will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Assist the Global Academy Delivery Manager by:
    • Coordinating information from key stakeholders to determine customer requirements and contractual obligations
    • Working with the Flight Academy Delivery Manager’s to understand their resource forecasts and constraints
    • Identify, analyse and report on actions required to optimize the delivery of flight training at all Academy bases
    • Provide a link between the Customer Experience team and Academy Delivery manager by coordinating the communication of plan updates
    • Compiling ad-hoc reports from the planning systems
  • Assist the Global Planning Manager by:
    • Data gathering to inform strategic and operational planning
    • Supporting the set up and ongoing maintenance of the operations web page
    • Perform re-coursing in the planning system
  • 3rd Party Airline Training Organization (ATO) Management
    • Working with 3rd party ATOs and various L3Harris departments to ensure Cadet Pilots are available at the right time to be trained by the 3rd party ATOs
    • Manage the 3rd Party ATO relationship on a day to day basis. Including but not limited to:
      • Create Purchase Requisitions for 3rd party services
      • Receipting 3rd party services once confirmed as delivered
      • Work with the training standards team to resolve training related problems
      • Implement changes to course dates once agreed with the Global Academy Delivery Manager
      • Monitoring cadet progress and providing status to other departments
      • Sign off events that have been completed at external bases
    • Ensure progress of Pilot Cadets at 3rd party ATOs is fed back to L3Harris departments that rely on this information
  • Support Director of Operations with day to day operational matters
  • Escalating problems to the Director of Operations as they occur
  • Act as bridge between colleagues in other time zones and those within Europe

Essential skills and experience:

  • Ability to work independently with a positive motivation and drive to adapt to change quickly
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey information effectively in written and verbal form
  • Interpersonal skills to enable efficient and influential communication at all levels
  • Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Word Outlook and Excel
  • Proven organizational skills together with the ability to prioritize and use tact and judgement
  • Ability to manage high volume activities under tight time constraints
  • Proven ability to work accurately and pay meticulous attention to detail, even under pressure
  • Willingness and ability to respond flexibly to the needs of the post
  • Proven ability to provide the best quality service to external and internal customers
  • Excellent team working skills based on experience of working in cross-functional and cross-site teams
  • Ability to communicate results and recommendations confidently in order to drive positive actions
  • Flexibility and ability to work well as part of a dynamic team
  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Polite and friendly telephone manner
  • International commercial outlook


Qualification and educational requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Math
  • Knowledge of working in a regulated or planning industry is an advantage

Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a shift pattern of:

  • 3 days per week 3.30pm – 11.30pm
  • 2 days per week 9am – 5pm
  • Days of week are flexible.

This shift pattern will allow us to work seamlessly with our New Zealand, USA, Europe and UK Airline Academy’s.
