Project Manager - Crawley

The project manager will be an effective leader and is capable of working across multiple functions to ensure that projects are initiated, executed and monitored in accordance with its specification and assumptions.

The project manager will have extensive experience in both project and programme management and have demonstrate skills recognised by a professional body and is capable of managing independently and complex situations.

Main activities and Accountabilities

  • Works with Bid Capture Team to ensure smooth transition from bid to programme phase, ensuring that all requirements (contract and programme) have been clearly defined and understood
  • Establishes and maintains healthy working relationship with Customer, providing programme status, programme documentation, detailed planning of key phases, and seeking customer feed-back
  • Communicates programme specifics to organisation through programme launch, identifying technical and non-technical requirements (including Health & Safety, Commercial, Legal, Support), ensuring they have been allocated to a relevant stakeholder
  • Ensures that all programme activities are adequately budgeted, scheduled, and delivered to requirements and expectations.
  • Organises regular status meetings with programme team, to ensure all programme budgets, milestones, resources and deliverables are being tracked and on target
  • Manages programme risk and opportunities, ensuring mitigation plans are in place in order to decrease the risk impact and maximise the effect of opportunities
  • Reports programme status and any issues to the Head of Programme Execution / Senior Management through monthly Programme Status Reviews
  • Provides lessons learned feedback of programme or development issues to relevant stakeholders within the organisation, driving any corrective action outputs where necessary

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

    • Educated to ideally graduate level with suitable degree (maths, science or engineering content) or professional qualification. At least 5 years’ experience in a programme management discipline, exposure to the simulation / aerospace business sector an added advantage
    • Demonstration of problem solving skills, analytical skills, innovation and commitment
    • Excellent leadership, communication and inter-personal skills
    • Exposure to modern computer software and computers including Windows, current company standard office software, and planning software
    • nsures that final status of deliverables to customer are fully captured, with detailed information shared with Customer Excellence
    • Experience in Requirements Management, Risk Management, Estimating, Scheduling, Peer Reviews
