Sales and Marketing FP&A: Senior Manager

In the role of Sales & Marketing (S&M) Finance Planning and Analysis Senior Manager, Commercial Aviation SolutionsSale (CAS), you will report to the VP S&M, CAS. You will manage and control the S&M forecasting of orders and sales by quarter and financial year. You will own the reporting and forecasting process for the CAS sales team by coordinating inputs from Division Presidents, CFOs and VPs, sales directors and finance stakeholders. Prepare and review global KPIs and metrics providing business performance insight to the senior management team to drive business performance. Manage the incentive scheme for the CAS sales team including targets and payouts.

CAS is implementing a centralized, matrixed sales organization across its five businesses and the role-holders will play a key part in delivering orders to meet the evolving and growing needs of the business. Commercial Aviation Solutions sector includes the Commercial Training Solutions Division (CTS), ACSS (a joint venture with Thales), MacH Automation, Security & Detection Systems (SDS) and Aviation Products Division (APD). It provides international civil training and simulation solutions, training services for qualified and aspiring pilots, aviation products, airborne situational awareness and safety solutions, airport security detection systems, flight data & cockpit voice recorders and Iridium Satcom products. CAS has operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Portugal, China, Thailand and New Zealand.

Being a part of the sales team will support the growth and transformation of our business and your role will:

  • Working collaboratively at all levels of seniority with internal partners including Commercial, Finance and Sales to produce accurate and credible data
  • Define and own all S&M performance KPIs including cost of sale (COS) and cost of marketing (COM) metrics to demonstrate sales force effectiveness
  • Able to simplify and present complex data and the insights captured to varied audiences within the organization
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated to ensure both planned and reactive reports are prepared and sent out at the required deadlines to Sector and Segment

  • Learn and understand the nuances of the business and its place within the broader industry such that you can develop improved reporting and sales forecasting to help grow the business

Deliver Results and Demonstrate Success:

  • Lead in the preparation of a consolidated CAS sales forecast, targets and orders, working with finance stakeholders across the organization to ensure timely and accurate information
  • Challenge key business stakeholders to deliver the actions required to validate the data being presented
  • Provide variance analysis for movements, develop industry knowledge and detailed understanding of the business fundamentals to become a key contributor to business performance
  • Compile key pieces of information related to performance against sales objectives to be reviewed by CAS Executive team and report approved plans to Finance for processing
  • Develop presentations that analyse sales and marketing activities and achievements from the CRM system
  • Manage incentive targets and payouts for the CAS sales team

Proven Qualifications:

  • A strong finance background in financial planning & analysis.
  • Bachelor degree in related field, MBA preferred.
  • Commercially driven and energized professional who operates with a sense of urgency and bias for action
  • Executive presence and credibility with the skills to manage relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to handle complexity, experience of building new reporting from scratch
  • Strong attention to detail, inquisitive and good organizational skills
  • Confident demeanor and professional delivery at all times
  • Strong communicator that can tailor their approach to the audience
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic and integrated team
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions
  • Finance/business qualification or been in a role that has required high levels of numeracy
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
