Senior Accountant (TSUK) - Crawley UK

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant within our Training Systems UK (TSUK) business.

Support the Financial Controller in all Financial Control activities for TSUK, including reporting, forecasting, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and other activities. Work closely with the TSUK Commercial Finance team to continue improving processes and developing a best-in-class control environment.

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of the monthly results including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow and variance analysis
  • General Ledger and Balance Sheet control – regular reviews and reconciliations
  • Sarbanes Oxley development and compliance, in line with Corporate requirements
  • Work with TSUK Commercial Finance team and business owners to drive profitability and greater financial awareness within TSUK
  • Provide input into monthly re-forecasting and annual budget processes
  • HFM reporting
  • Cost centre management and review with stakeholders, including budgeting/forecasting
  • Involvement in Treasury and banking operations, in conjunction with Controller and Corporate
  • Other key returns and reports on behalf of TSUK, including statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, SAO tax documentation, dealing with auditors, etc.
  • Utilise enhanced functionality of newly implemented SAP system to drive improvements in processes and deliverables
  • Ad hoc projects, reporting and analysis

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualification and educational requirements:

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with post qualification experience gained within large blue chip organizations

Essential skills and experience

  • The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, proactive accountant
  • Experience working in a large Corporate environment, ideally US-listed with experience of Sarbanes Oxley compliance and testing
  • Statutory accounts and external audit
  • Gravitas to challenge and support stakeholders of all levels across the business and challenge the status quo
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative, spot issues early and liaise effectively with key stakeholders
  • Strong communicator that can tailor their approach to the audience and present with impact
  • Resilient, able to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
  • Innovation, continuous improvement mentality
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • SAP / HFM
