Senior Financial Planning Analyst - Crawley, UK

As the Senior FP&A Analyst you will be a key contributor and business partner for our financial planning and decision support processes within our Commercial Training Solutions (CTS) division located in Crawley UK, which is a part of the Commercial Aviation Solutions (CAS) sector. You will work across all departments and multiple divisions within CAS to provide a wide range of financial and decision support information to senior management. You will have oversight and be responsible for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, month-end reporting and analysis, operational and management reporting, trend analysis, and ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making for new initiatives. You will directly support the Sector Director of FP&A located in the US and Sector CFO located in the UK, in preparing and reviewing a variety of complex financial data and will maintain and update the marketing/sales financial models and forecasts. You will review actuals vs. forecasts, investigate material variances, develop tools for improving the forecasting and actual results and roll them out to the executive and management team. You must have a strong Financial & Accounting background, have a good understanding of overall business operations and will enjoy working on very complex and critical projects.

You will demonstrate success by:

  • Directing the compilation of business unit plans and present analyses of forecasted amounts in relation to actual results and previous forecasts, and expectations. Highlight and understand major assumptions and their effects on the budget/forecast. Perform sensitivity analyses to assess reasonable range of outcomes.

  • Preparing comprehensive financial models with an integrated set of financial statements, assumptions (such as revenue, margins and working capital requirements) and metrics. Analyzing past results and future outcomes in conjunction with market analyses to develop recommendations for changes in model assumptions. Perform sensitivity analyses to assess reasonable range of outcomes.
  • Presenting financial analyses on forecasts and trends. This includes identifying, understanding and communicating changes in forecasts. Trends must also be identified, often by thorough data analysis. You will identify cost savings opportunities for the Company. Financial analysis also encompasses leveraging tools to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information.
  • Preparing executive summaries for topics such as market analysis, macro-economic conditions and financial metrics. These types of analyses require an ongoing understanding of key markets, competition and economic conditions. They also require an understanding of how these factors affect various aspects of our business, as well as our relative position in markets. Identifying and conveying key influences on our businesses and trends is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • FP&A experience
  • Must be proficient in HFM Workspace / Excel Smartview add-in
  • Exceptional data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Excel skills including writing, editing, and troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge accounting, forecasting, planning, and business systems
  • Experienced in high volume data compilation and report writing experience
  • Highly ethical and thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Must have highly organized work style and a project manager mindset
  • Strong time and change management skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally to achieve positive results

Desired Qualifications
