Support and Infrastructure IT Apprentice

We’re looking for the next generation who will continue to innovate in our business and deliver to our customers within the aviation industry. An Apprenticeship position in our IT Team will see you gaining invaluable experience in the real world. You will be working alongside a fully skilled and experienced team where you will share in the everyday challenges, develop new skills and acquire a fascinating insight into our business. The role predominantly involves working within the IT Service Desk on 1st and 2rd line support requests. The organisation uses a wide variety of technologies and business systems so there is huge scope for you to learn and excellent opportunities to expand your skillset.

Person Specification

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who really want to make the most of a hands on Apprenticeship working in a complex, international and fast paced environment, pushing the boundaries of what can be learnt and experienced during an Apprenticeship. Our IT team supports 1400+ users, based in 12 offices throughout the world. Your role is highly visible so your communication must be clear, concise and professional at all times. You must be able to quickly understand problems and issues and sometimes interpret conversations especially when providing remote support. The right candidate will have;

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

  • 4 GCSEs grade 4 or above to include English, Mathematics (a Technology based GCSE would be an advantage) or a minimum BTEC Level 2 in an appropriate field.
  • Effective time management skills
  • willingness to approach any task with enthusiasm
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with his/hers peers and supervisors at all times
  • Team player, flexible working, open minded, proactive in moving the company forward
  • Displays energy, drive, agility and resilience in achieving work-related goals

Over the period of the Apprenticeship Key Responsibilities and Task will include:

  • Microsoft Windows Desktop platform 7 /8 /10
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • VM Ware Virtual Data Centre
  • Cisco Networks
  • 1st and 2rd line support requests
