LAS VEGAS, Oct. 22, 2019 — L3Harris Technologies’ (NYSE:LHX) EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display has received FAA TSO DO-178C and DO-254 Level A authorization and certification – a stringent safety standard ensuring the fidelity and reliability of this essential back-up display used on turboprops, light jets and helicopters.

The EFD-750 is a high-resolution Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display with standard solid-state sensors for attitude, airspeed and altitude that gives operators the necessary information to maintain their course and safely arrive at their destination in the event the integrated cockpit fails. It has been designed to meet all regulatory and OEM requirements, while also offering increasing pilot situational awareness through configuration options for heading, navigation and air data, as well as a selectable menu for pilots. The clear display and pilot selectable navigation, data and brightness settings enhance situational awareness in the cockpit enabling safer skies.

The display has been selected as standard equipment on PC-12 and PC-24 platforms manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. Pilatus selected the EFD-750 for the OEM configuration options, which allow them to deliver avionics aligning to customer-specific operations while meeting the highest safety standards.

“We leverage our core strengths to provide efficient, value-added safety products,” said Terry Flaishans, President, Avionics, L3Harris. “The EFD-750 is a critical piece of safety equipment. It was important to achieve the most stringent level of certification to meet our customers’ expectations, while enhancing safety through better situational awareness.”

The EFD-750 advanced back-up system is available today as part of the commercial aviation portfolio of products from L3Harris.
