Our Modular ATPL allows you to kickstart your journey towards a successful pilot career at your own pace, in your own time. Whether you have little to no experience or want to upskill your existing pilot training, the modular approach enables you to complete individual courses and obtain licences and ratings based on your experiences and aspirations.

To begin Modular ATPL training you will need a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and you must have logged 150 flying hours before you can start your CPL. If you do not already hold a PPL we also offer courses designed to get you there - learn how to become a private pilot and get your PPL.

Private Pilot Licence (PPL) with Night Rating

Learn how to become a private pilot. You will need to hold a PPL before you can commence Modular ATPL training. Your PPL does not have to be issued by EASA to train in the UK; it can be issued by any International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO). Please see our PPL course details below.

MEP CPL & IR

A Multi-Engine Piston Class Rating (MEP) Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) & Instrument Rating (IR) is a huge step towards becoming a commercial airline pilot.

Following successful completion of the MEP CPL & IR you will need to complete UPRT and APS MCC training before beginning your career on the flight deck.

You will need to hold a PPL with 150 flying hours and have completed your Theoretical Knowledge training before your CPL training can begin.

Our Airline Pilot Standard (APS) Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) is delivered on Boeing or Airbus simulators and offers access to our Airline Placement Pool to help secure your First Officer role with a global airline.

Airline Pilot Standard (APS) Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) is widely accepted by airlines as an industry standard for new pilots at entry-level. It is an enhanced course based around the principles of Crew Resource Management (CRM), Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Training (JOT), providing the necessary qualifications required to progress to a type rating course.

Selection process onto the Modular ATPL courses

Selection is mandatory and consists of technical and non-technical elements. The technical elements will test skills such as numeracy and aptitude and the non-technical is a Zoom interview. If you are a PPL holder you will not be required to sit the technical elements (subject to logbook review by our Selection team), but you will still have to attend a Zoom interview.

  • What is Modular ATPL?

      Modular ATPL is a flexible approach to gaining the theoretical knowledge and practical flying experience necessary to become a commercial airline pilot.

      You can train at your own pace, in your own time whilst paying in bitesize chunks.

      If you successfully obtain your PPL, you can go on to command single-engine private aircraft for non-commercial passengers.
